Register: 

  • Programs with a drop-in option do not require pre-registration.
  • Limited online registration is open HERE   NEW!  RecDesk Registration System - Moon Parks and Recreation is now using RecDesk recreation management software (effective November 1, 2022) for program registrations. Please call the park office with any questions: 412-262-1703.  
  • Call the Parks and Recreation office at 412-262-1703 to pay with credit card.
  • In person registrations are currently by appointment only except for Senior Connection programs (please see the Senior Connection Program section below for additional details).  Please call Moon Parks and Recreation at 412.262.1703. Payment is due at the time of registration.
  • The Robin Hill Center is closed to the public, for classes on the Robin Hill Patio, please walk around the main building to the back patio where the class will be held. Public bathrooms are available at the entrance of the park. 
  • For classes at Moon Park, multiple public bathrooms are available in the park.

What is the Senior Connection?
The Moon Township Senior Connection offers senior programming to anyone 55+ in Moon Township as well as all surrounding communities.  Membership is FREE with the purchase of a membership card ($10). 

Program and Event Information:
Current program guides and information are available at the Senior Connection (see below for address).  The guides are located in the Senior Connection blue information box located accross from the registration desk.  Information is also available at moonparks.org.

In person:
Registrations can be done in person at the front desk of the Senior Connection Tuesdays through Thursdays from 10am-2pm.  All payments are due at the time of registration. 

Online:
The majority of our events and programs are available for online registration and payment.  Please click on the "Register Now" button below to register.


 

  



Cancellation Policy:
Cancellations made less than 7 days before the event will incur a 25% cancellation fee.  Refunds will be made to your account.  No Show - No Refund. Exceptions will be noted in event description/details.

The Senior Connection will be open for use by all members from 10am until 3pm on Mondays through Fridays starting Tuesday, January 24. Feel free to stop in or stay all day. Meet friends to socialize and have some fun. Cards, books, puzzles, games, ping pong, shuffleboard, crafts/coloring, and music are always available. Complimentary coffee, tea, and hot chocolate provided.

St. Patrick’s Day Lunch with musical entertainment
This is the day to wear your green and celebrate because everyone is Irish on St. Patrick’s Day. A hot buffet lunch with buttered perogies and kielbasa & kraut plus more, beverages & dessert. Then time to get moving and grooving with Dave and Sugar Ray on piano and vocals.

Easter Egg Trivia Game
Are you a trivia buff? If so, this is your game. Every correct answer you have gets you a treat filled Easter Egg. Will be team play of two members per team. First team to answer correctly wins the eggs. Beverages and snacks will be provided.

Ladies Tea and Lunch
A time for the girls to get together and have a tea party. Hats and gloves, frills & frocks, and anything feminine is welcome. We will have a lovely variety of teas, a hot buffet lunch, dessert, and a themed game or two.

Poker Run
Let’s have some fun…All levels of card players welcomed. Your team will receive 2 cards when you check in. Your team will then travel to 3 various local familiar destinations to get one card per stop. This will create your 5-card poker hand. When you return your team may discard up to two cards. The team with the best hand wins. Prizes, hot dog lunch, beverages provided.

Bus Trip to the Academy Theatre in Meadville Pa. to see a stage performance of
“The Sound of Music” & Dinner

Travel round trip via a Lenzner Tours deluxe motorcoach to the lovely Academy Theater and enjoy your reserved seat at the matinee stage performance of “The Sound of Music”. Followed by a delicious family Style dinner at beautiful “Tara-A Country Inn” All taxes, tips and surcharges included. 30 participants needed for trip to go.

Hip Hop Cardio (Adults & Teens 15+)

Join Amy for some cardio dance exercise! You can take the moves up to make them harder or modify for any fitness level. Amy will help everyone with fun fitness through dance where everyone can leave feeling like they had a great workout and had fun! Class will include warm up and cool down also.


Senior Workout Drop-in (Age 55+)
Dates: March 1st-May 31st (No class 3/8, 4/12 & 5/17)
Time: Wednesdays, 10:00-11:00am

This class will help seniors (55+) maintain a fitness level to stay mobile. It is a LOW impact aerobics class that will work on balance and strenghtening, while having fun and meeting new people.


Senior Yoga (Age 55+)

Pilates (Adults and Teens 15+)

The Pilates method of body conditioning is a unique system of stretching/strengthening exercises that work the entire body. Expect to flatten your abs, strengthen your core muscles, increase flexibility, firm buttocks/thighs, and improve your posture. For all fitness levels. Bring a mat, light hand weights (3lbs or less) and water.


Barre (Adults & Teens 15+) 
Dates: Wednesday, March 8th-April 12th
                             April 19th-May 24th 
Location: Moved to Carriage House (through March 22nd). Robin Hill Center starting March 29th
Time: 8:30 – 9:30 am
Fee: $45 – Moon Resident $50 Non Moon Resident (Per 6 week session)

This class has a max participation number of 18 people. Please register online. For more information about space availability for drop-ins, please email pilatesbodyj@gmail.com. Restrooms are available at the entrance of the park.  A total body workout that lifts your seat, tones your thighs, abs, arms and burns fat. This workout includes elements of ballet, Pilates, and traditional toning exercises. The class starts with standing barrework. The class ends with core work and a series of deep stretches. Bring a mat and a pair of 1-3lb dumb bells. For all fitness levels.

Yoga-curious or yoga-nervous? Then this is the class for you...No experience required! Instructor Jen Stratakis E-RYT 500, will lead you through an hour-long class, which includes standing and seated poses, breathwork, and guided relaxation. Modifications are given to accommodate everyone. With regular practice, yoga can improve lung capacity, flexibility, cardiovascular endurance, mental calm, and more. Bring a mat, water bottle, and any other yoga props you may have. Blocks are especially helpful.  



Totally Toned (Adults & Teens 15+)
Dates:  Mondays, February 27th-April 3rd
                          April 17th-May 22nd

Time: 6:30 – 7:30pm
Fee: $45 – Moon Resident $50 Non Moon Resident (Per 6 week session)

This class has a max participation number of 15 people. Please register online. There are no drop-ins for this class. This class is designed to help tone your entire body including abs, thighs, back, arms, and glutes. It is appropriate for all fitness levels. Bring hand weights and a mat.
