2010 TENNIS LESSONS

Tennis Lessons are back in 2010!  Our instructor, Kent Johnson, is a USPTA P1/PTR Professional who has worked with world class junior tennis players at some of the most prestigious tennis academies in the country.  He is dedicated to training players of all ages and abilities and employs the latest training methods for maximum results in both group and private lessons. Whether you are a beginner or an experienced player, our commitment and knowledge toward each students goal will help them play better tennis and have more fun on the court, all while increasing their confidence, health and enjoyment of the game.  We are currently offering summer sessions for you to choose from.  Please inquire about private lessons.  If you are interested or would like to register, please contact the park office at 412/262-1703 or email us at info@moonparks.org.

SNAPOLOGY

Class - Lego Robotics - Amazing Animals

Date: September 13 - October 18, 2010 (Mondays)

Time: 6:00-7:00 pm – (Ages 6-12)

Location: Robin Hill Center

Cost: Resident $75.00, Non-Resident $80.00

Moon Parks and Recreation is proud to sponsor a Snapology class.  If you like to build with Lego bricks, you'll love this!!!  Come build awesome robotic models featuring working motors and sensors.  Work in teams under guided instruction to build and program Lego models.  You will have a chance to build a different model in each class.  Don't miss out on all the fun!  Lego is a registered trademark of the Lego company, which is not affiliated with these programs.  If you are interested, would like to register or receive more information, please contact the park office at 412/262-1703 or email us at info@moonparks.org.

"ART AROUND THE WORLD"

Dates: September 16 - October 21, 2010 (Thursdays)
Times: 4:30pm - 5:30pm
Location: Robin Hill Center
Cost: $75 Residents/$80 Non-Residents

(Children Ages 6-12)

Moon Parks and Recreation is proud to present "Art Around the World".  Get yourself ready to travel through the world of art without ever leaving town.  Children will make creations based on traditional art forms throughout the world.  We will visit Egypt, China, Scotland, Japan, France and other lands on our journey.  We will work in watercolor, colored pencil, ink, pastel, charcoal and other mediums to make awesome artwork while learning interesting techniques.  For more information or to register, please email or contact the park office.

Make a Masterpiece" - Monday's

Dates: September 20 - October 25, 2010 (Mondays)
Times: 1:00pm - 2:30pm
Location: Robin Hill Center
Cost: $75 Residents/$80 Non-Residents

(Child /Parent Class for young “future artists” ages 3-5)

Moon Parks and Recreation is offering a "Make a Masterpiece" - Mondays.  This 6-week class is designed for very young children to experience the joy of learning beginning artistic skills assisted by their parent or special adult caretaker.  Children and adults companion will paint, draw, practice  cutting and collage skills and more, using a variety of different mediums to create their very own masterpieces. We will also discover different Artists such as Monet, Picasso, and Van Gogh in an age appropriate way, and let them inspire us in our own projects.  For more information or to register, please contact the park office.

BABYSITTER'S TRAINING

Dates: Saturday, October 23, 2010
Times: 8:00am - 4:30pm
Location: Robin Hill Park
Cost: $50 Residents/$55 Non-Residents - *Must Provide Bag Lunch*

Moon Parks and Recreation is sponsoring a Babysitter's Training Course.  This course will be taught by an instructor from the American Red Cross and will provide you with the knowledge and skills necessary to safely & responsibly care for children and infants.  This training will train you to develop leadership skills and how to develop a babysitting business.  It also teach you how to keep everyone safe and the proper techniques to teach children how to behave.  You will also learn the basic child care and 1st aid.  If you would like to receive more information or would like to register, please call the Park Office at 412-262-1703 or email us at info@moonparks.org.
