Moon Parks and Recreation is sponsoring 2 Pilate’s classes. We are happy
to introduce our newest instructor, Judy Elias. She is a Level 3
certified Peak Pilates instructor and has been teaching Pilates for 6 years and
exercise classes for more than 20 years. You may have seen her program on
MCA-TV. The Pilates Method of conditioning is a unique system of
stretching/strengthening exercises that works the entire body. Expect to
flatten your abs, strengthen your core muscles, increase flexibility, firm
buttocks/thighs and improve your posture. It is designed for all fitness
levels and we ask that you provide a towel/mat to class. If you would

2010 TENNIS LESSONS
Tennis Lessons are back in 2010! Our instructor, Kent Johnson, is a USPTA P1/PTR Professional who has worked with world class junior tennis players at some of the most prestigious tennis academies in the country. He is dedicated to training players of all ages and abilities and employs the latest training methods for maximum results in both group and private lessons. Whether you are a beginner or an experienced player, our commitment and knowledge toward each students goal will help them play better tennis and have more fun on the court, all while increasing their confidence, health and enjoyment of the game. STRETCHING WITH ELENE

Moon Parks and Recreation is welcoming men and women of all ages to sign up for
the "Stretching with Elene" class at Robin Hill Center with Certified Yoga Instructor, Elene Paige. The class is a style of exercise that
integrates acupressure theory, yoga, and structural integration. By stretching
our bodies through hatha yoga and stimulating the acupressure points, our bodies

BASIC DOG OBEDIENCE CLASS
Dates: September 15 - October 20, 2010 (Wednesdays) - 6 weeks

Cost: $90 Residents/$95 Non-Residents - Fee covers 1 Dog & 1 Handler
NO AGGRESSIVE DOGS PERMITTED. Handlers must be at least 16 years of age. Dogs must be at least 12 weeks of age. Class is limited to 10 students.
PLEASE NOTE: THE FIRST WEEK ONLY - STUDENTS WILL MEET AT 7:00PM FOR A ONE-HOUR SEMINAR WITHOUT THEIR DOGS.
Moon Parks and Recreation is sponsoring a Basic Dog Obedience Class. Our instructors, Deborah Miller-Gurchak and Kelly Pontiere (Assistant) from Hollybush Dog Training Service, has designed the class for the handler whose puppy or older dog needs to learn (or perfect) basic commands and manners, including how to begin walking nicely on a loose leash. This gentle-style training will teach skills such as sit, down, stand, stay, come, etc. , we will discuss behavior problems, safety around dogs and how to keep your dog's attention in spite of distractions. “SUMI” The Art of
Japanese Brush Painting & Calligraphy Basics

Moon Parks and Recreation is proud to present a new art class called "SUMI". Our instructor, Zoe Shutka, will teach you the basics of SUMI. The 6-week class will work on simple brush
stroke techniques will create beautiful pieces of artwork in this enjoyable
class. We will learn how to paint
traditional subjects of nature such as bamboo trees, floral designs and
bird life using skills that we will practice. We will be using different paper
and materials in our projects, as well. NO EXPERIENCE
REQUIRED !!!! This is an introduction to the technique, although any artist
would enjoy this experience. We will
also learn the basics of Calligraphy and also work with watercolor in some of

Class: Mantras & Mudras
Date: October 19, 2010

Mantras are
sounds, syllables, single words, or phrases that are considered capable of
creating transformation. Mudras are symbolic, energetic hand gestures.
Together, mantras and mudras can add to the depth and meaning of a yoga or meditation
practice. Led by a classically-trained, registered yoga instructor, this
workshop is an exploration of these very traditional and powerful
"accessories" to your yoga practice. No prior yoga or meditation
experience is required. Please bring a
yoga mat or something to make sitting on the floor comfortable.

Meditation is a way to access your
inner self by quieting your busy mind and focusing your awareness on the
present moment. Meditation can lower blood pressure, reduce chronic pain,
reduce anxiety and stress and increase recognition of compulsive behavior patterns.
In this workshop, we will explore meditation and breath work (pranayama)
techniques for stress management and improved wellness. No prior yoga or
meditation experience is necessary.
Please bring a yoga mat or something to make sitting/laying on the floor
comfortable.
Class: Partner Yoga
Date: November 9, 2010
Cost: $30 Residents/$35 Non-Residents - Fees are per Couple
Bring a spouse, sibling, child, parent, or friend for this fun
exploration of yoga! Partner yoga fosters trust and communication, as well as
encouraging a greater connection between two people. Children must be at least 13 years old.
Work with 2 experienced yoga instructors to open your spines, find
deeper breath, and release tension by practicing poses supporting each other
and intertwined. Please bring a yoga mat and any other yoga props you may have.
Class: Yin Yoga
Date: November 30, 2010
Cost: $25 Residents/$30 Non-Residents
Yin Yoga targets
connective tissue, specifically ligaments and tendons in the joints and spine.
Over time, the Yin practice can lengthen these tissues, increasing range of
motion. Yin concerns itself with freeing up bound prana (or chi, the life
force) through static, supported poses which stimulate energy movement throughout
the body, along its organ meridians. Yin is a complementary practice to flow
yoga or any other active pursuit (running, cycling, team sports, etc.) Yin
helps us move into stillness and release tension. Please bring a yoga mat and
any other yoga props you may have.
